Welcome to Bing – our Art Deco vintage aerodynamic aluminium trailer.

This recently refurbished Spartan Manor is worthy of the same respect it garnered in 1946. Spartan trailers were so well built that a fair number of the 40,000 units originally produced have survived an incredible 80 decades, making this trailer from their first year of production a very special member of our fleet.

The Spartan Aircraft Company was founded in 1928 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. When the US got involved in World War II, the manufacturing plant was used to supply airplanes and parts for the war. After WWII Spartan used its skilled labour force and manufacturing abilities to create the legendary Spartan Executive; a five-seat plane with unparalleled luxury, speed, and flight range for the extremely wealthy. In 1945 Spartan changed focus to a like-industry, travel trailers, and did so with the same cutting-edge building techniques and lavishness one would expect.

This incredible piece of American history is named after beloved crooner Bing Crosby. With good reason, ‘The Manor’ is considered the ultimate dream RV. Although a forties van the appearance is very Art Deco with sloping angles and curved windows. The interior is impressively wood-panelled.

Bing contains a private double bedroom separated from the neighbouring kitchenette by a dual-purpose louvre door, which also services the adjoining en-suite shower room. The bedroom boasts its own exterior door opening to a tranquil, discreet corner of the site. There’s a brand-new gas oven with a three-ring hob in the kitchen and an under-counter fridge with freezer compartment.

A sofa bed, Formica table and two chairs occupy the impressively spacious salon lounge which provides stunning panoramic views of the picturesque farm site and nearby Brading Downs.

End of September Idyll. The campsite was amazing, perfect place for visiting the island. It was clean, tidy and completely dog friendly. The shower and toilets were fantastic, hot water plentiful, clean and fully stocked. The staff were incredible, friendly but not intrusive. A seating area with a fridge/freezer, TV(we didn't need) a radio and charging points protected us from the sunshine.. end of September weather was fantastic.. The addition of a firepit was just the icing on the cake . Made the last evening just so special. We will see you next year!!

Location great ,facilities spotless, showers hot . Decking area with phone charging ,freezer and fridge ,games and fire pit area with plenty of chairs a bonus.Good lighting on campsite enough to be able to use everything without being too bright .Ended up staying for 4 nights. Thankyou sarah and Emma from The orange vdub mcgrorys .

Lovely peaceful stay in September Beautiful well kept site with level pitches. Very friendly and helpful host. Nice and quiet but felt safe (as solo female traveller). Lots of thoughtful touches- decking with comfy armchairs, firepit, large fridge freezer, chill out zone, picnic tables, pretty lighting around the site. Honesty shop with eggs and milk etc. I was in a tent but the airstream glamping pods looked awesome. Would be a great place for a large group or rally due to flexible accomodation and sociable space!
